The Area

Les Gavatxes is located in the nature reserve of the Alta Garrotxa region, in the north of Catalonia. At 660 meters we are nestled in the lower Pyrenees with the highest peaks visible and not far away. The area abounds with wildlife and each season has its own beauty.

Our location is close to charming medieval towns like Beget, historic cities and untouched nature with nearby rivers which will offer you a perfect stay. We are also close to major cities like Barcelona and Girona.

The volcanic natural park where Les Gavatxes is located, known as the Alta Garrotxa, is a hidden treasure. It is a wooded region ideal for lovers of hiking, who will enjoy discovering the forest paths and the mountains. In winter it is truly spectacular, with snow-capped peaks in the surrounding high mountains. In spring, summer and autumn the landscape is in constant flux, with ever changing wildflowers, shady forests, and wildlife such as deer, boar, vultures and eagles are abundant.
