June 23-26th – Deep Rest Meditation Retreat: in a Spirit of Living Silence

June 23 @ 3:30 pm - June 26 @ 2:00 pm

Dates: June 23-26th

About the retreat:

A long weekend to immerse in silence, aliveness, deep rest meditation with finely tuned instructions and an atmosphere of welcome.

The retreat is suitable for newcomers and experienced meditators.

We will complement stillness—sitting or lying down—with meditative movement through walking, guided embodiment, a work period, and optional meditative singing.

The days will be in silence apart from guided meditations, Jaya’s unique Dharma teachings, and optional one-to-one meetings with Jaya.

Just as literal rest allows the body and mind to renew themselves, so also deep rest and lying down meditation drops us into direct and non-conceptual awareness. This contact with aliveness feeds a natural opening to deep meditation, where old habit-energies resolve without the intense drama that occurs when we force things.

Life beyond ideas leaves room for spacious joy and powerful shifts that make a real difference in our lives.

About the teacher: Jaya Ashmore

In her teachings, Jaya Ashmore integrates her own love of meditation—and of life—with deep experience in the traditions of Buddhism, yoga, Advaita (non-duality), Christianity and Hindu mysticism, as well as ecology, embodied movement, and the Japanese art of Jin Shin Jyutsu.

Born in the US, where she studied religion and art at Harvard, she began practicing meditation in 1985 and was authorized to teach in 1998. A gentle revolutionary, she has taught meditation through deep rest on silent, intensive retreats to thousands of people in a dozen countries.

After living much of her adult life in India with her teachers, Jaya now lives in Catalonia. She founded the US nonprofit Open Dharma to support awakening in people from any and no religion.
